Photographed  by Anthony J Sargeant on the evening of 18th August 2015 – The Cutty Sark is an impressive sight floodlit at night. Tony and Eileen had gone to London to see the Ravillious Exhibition at Dulwich Art Gallery (which was impressive). But we stayed at The Mercure Hotel in Greenwich – and after eating we walked along to Greenwich pier where the Cutty Sark is preserved in a dry dock. Originally built as a tea clipper – a fast cargo boat to bring the seasons tea back from the East – by the time it came into service it was really out of date and although used for other purposes for a while it never fulfilled its true function. It remains a beautiful example of the fast sailing ships built in the last days of sail.
